CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — A 30-year-old man was arrested and accused of killing another man in a crash last month.

On Dec. 17, police responded to reports of a crash around 8:30 p.m. near Macon Highway and the intersection of Garden Lane.

According to WSBTV, investigators determined that “a Toyota MR2 driven by John Orchard was traveling east on Macon Highway when a Jeep Gladiator turned out of a driveway onto the highway.”

Orchard rear-ended the Jeep and critically injured the front seat passenger, who later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Jeep suffered non-life-threatening injuries and Orchard suffered minor injuries.

Orchard was arrested on warrants of felony first-degree homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence, and following too closely.
