GBI investigating after armed man was shot by police in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — An officer-involved shooting is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in DeKalb County.

A DeKalb County sheriff’s deputy shot an armed man while officers tried to arrest him, according to the GBI.

The suspect was identified by police as 34-year-old Marquiece Beadle.

Beadle had warrants for murder and sale of a controlled substance from Chamblee police.

According to the GBI, the shooting between police and Beadle happened on the 5800 block of Covington Highway. The current extent of Beadle’s injuries is unknown.

No officers were injured.
