DULUTH, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police need the public’s help to find and identify a man who robbed a check-cashing business in January.
Police say on Jan. 14, officers responded to an armed robbery at a check-cashing business located at 3675 Satellite Blvd. in Duluth. The address corresponds to Ace Cash Express, according to WSBTV.
Officers learned an armed suspect attempted to rob the business and fired at least one gunshot through the front door before fleeing on foot.
A victim told police that the suspect, described as a black male wearing a white jacket and a face mask, began banging on the lobby door.
The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded she open the door. The victim pressed the panic button, alerting law enforcement. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and fired, shattering the glass door.
On Jan. 16, a suspect matching the same description attempted to rob a check-cashing business in Smyrna.
Both Gwinnett County Police and Smyrna Police investigators believe the same individual is responsible for both incidents.
