ATLANTA — Police recently arrested and charged a 19-year-old man who was accused of attacking a woman while she was walking in Peachtree City in 2024.

According to the Peachtree City Police Department, officers responded the multi-use path near the Renew Braelinn Apartments after reports of an incident in June of 2024.

The suspect, later identified as Terrence Truitt attempted to steal a woman’s fanny pack while she was walking on the path, police say. After an altercation, the victim removed a mask from the suspect and he fled on foot.

Peachtree City PD’s Criminal Investigations Division identified Truitt as the suspect and later obtained a search warrant for Truitt’s DNA. The sample was sent to the GBI “for comparison with the mask removed by the victim” and confirmed.

Truitt was arrested on Jan. 13 and faces criminal attempt to commit robbery charges.
