Motorist stuck on train tracks in Austell not injured, arrested for driving under the influence

AUSTELL, Ga. – Police in Austell made a shocking discovery on Sunday evening after receiving a call about a car stuck on railroad tracks.

Police say they received a phone call around 9 p.m. Sunday after a car got stuck on the railroad tracks at Veterans Memorial Highway and Spring Street.

When officers arrived, they say the driver had a blood alcohol level that was three times over the legal limit.

Fortunately, police say the driver and other motorists were not injured “as a result of this driver’s reckless decision to drive while under the influence.”

The driver, whose identity was not released, was booked into Cobb County Jail.
