ATLANTA — An investigation is underway after a man died after falling from a high-rise window, and a woman was stabbed and shot inside of a high-rise apartment.

Police responded to the 200 block of Piedmont Avenue NE around 2:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the man dead along the building below and a woman who had “sustained injuries consistent with being shot and stabbed.”

Police said the woman was rushed to a nearby hospital. The current extent of the woman’s injuries is unknown at this time.

The identity of the man who died and the woman who was injured has not been released by police.
