Dekalb administrator shows lewd pictures to fifth grader

An assistant principal at a Dekalb County elementary school is in hot water after apparently showing a fifth grade student lewd pictures on a cell phone.

11-year-old Azure Dasgupta was called into the principal's office at the Dekalb Elementary School of the Arts where the vice principal asked her if she had sent pictures of a classmate's privates to another student's cell phone.

She then showed Dasgupta the pictures.

"When she first showed me, I was like, 'eew,'" says Dasgupta. "And I turned away and I don't want to see that, 'cause I knew it was something bad."

Dasgupta tells Channel 2 Action News she had nothing to do with the pictures.

Now her mother wants answers.

"She did apologize," says Sarquetta Grayer, the girl's mother. "She said she dropped the ball. She didn't mean any ill intent."

She says, even though the other student's phone said the pictures came from a picture text from Dasgupta, the phone number associated with her name was not the correct number.

A lawyer for the family says the vice principal should be removed from her position.
