Distribution center, 600 jobs coming to Braselton

Atlanta-based Carter's Corporation announces plans to bring more than 600 jobs to metro Atlanta by 2015.

A new one million square foot distribution center will be located in Braselton.

Jackson County Economic Development Director Courtney Bernardi tells Channel 2 Action News this is huge.

"It's going to be funneling out to a lot of different things, fulfillment, distribution, wholesale and retail, so it's going to have a lot going on in here," said Bernardi.

Hiring has already begun to fill 250 jobs needed when the center opens in June. Click here to apply.

Job seekers like Danielle Fortner couldn't be happier.

"It's really exciting, because I mean the economy everywhere has been low, especially in small towns where there's not many job openings period.  And now you've got a branch like this opening up.  It's a pretty big deal," said Fortner.

This announcement comes one week after Home Depot announced it was closing a distribution plant in Braselton.
