2 kids killed, 1 injured in Morgan County crash, GSP says

MORGAN COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol is investigating a utility vehicle crash that killed two 12-year-old children and injured another in Morgan County.

GSP troopers responded to Old Buckhead Road around 5 p.m. on Monday after reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, authorities found the victims of the crash.

“On behalf of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, I extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of these two young men. This is a heartbreaking incident that has shaken our small community. Our hearts go out to their loved ones as they navigate this unimaginable loss,” Morgan County Sheriff Tyler Hooks said according to WSBTV.

Morgan County Schools where the students attended, also released a statement on the crash.

“The Morgan County Charter Schools community is mourning the loss of two of the best of Morgan County due to a tragic accident that occurred over the holiday weekend. There are no words that can ease the sorrow and sadness we feel right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of these exceptional young men. MCCS is focused on providing additional support and resources. Our counselors will be present at Morgan County Middle School for support for our students, staff, families and community. Processing this news is going to take time, and we will be here for every student, every family, and every staff member. Like always, we will teach and lead with our hearts today. We know there will be tough days ahead for Morgan County, but together we will help each other as a " One Morgan” family. Please keep the families and all those affected in your thoughts and prayers,” Morgan County Charter Schools wrote in a statement.

The identities of the victims have not been released.
