ATLANTA — Atlanta police say an 18-year-old is dead and a 14-year-old is in critical condition after a shootout near Atlanta University Center on Tuesday afternoon.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News that the shooting occurred at a BP gas station near the intersection of Sells Avenue and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard just before 4:30 p.m.

Officers determined that the shooting was the result of a large fight that included about 10 people at the gas station.

It is unclear what caused the fight to begin.

Police told Channel 2′s Michael Seiden that they have a person of interest in this shooting.

Officers are looking to identify everyone involved in this shootout.
