SUWANEE, Ga. — Police in Suwanee are investigating after a 60-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed trying to cross a busy road around 7 p.m. on Monday.

Officers responded to the area of Old Peachtree Road south of Lawrenceville and Suwanee Road after reports of a pedestrian hit by a car.

The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police did not say whether the driver remained on the scene after hitting the victim.

Detectives are asking any potential witnesses to help provide information.
