ATLANTA — Four-time Grammy award-winning and diamond-certified rock legends Aerosmith is retiring from the touring stage amid the vocal injury that lead singer Steven Tyler suffered in 2023, according to a statement on Aerosmith’s official website.

The beloved Boston-born band was only three shows into the “Peace Out” tour in 2023 when Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler suffered vocal cord damage. A doctor confirmed to the band that Steven Tyler damaged vocal cords and he fractured his larynx

They were scheduled to perform in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on Friday, Oct. 11.

“We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing,” the statement read. “As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage.”

Aerosmith is known for many groundbreaking hits including “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Last Child,” “Draw The Line,” “Walk This Way,” and many more.
