Alleged Ghost Face gang member arrested in wild take-down in north Georgia

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. — Video captures the moment deputies took down a suspected wanted gang member in north Georgia.

Deputies in Gilmer County were notified on July 16 that Jeremy Kelley may be traveling in the area with a woman named Stephanie Summers.

Kelley was being sought for burglary and auto theft charges in Gwinnett County and aggravated assault charges in Roswell.

When deputies went to area hotels to see if they could find the vehicle the two were in, deputies said they spotted Kelley standing in the parking lot. When deputies approached him, they said he started to run toward the back of the motel.

The short chase ended when Kelley fell and deputies right behind him apprehended him.

Detectives said they obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and found over one pound of methamphetamine, a trafficking amount of heroin, stolen items from Gwinnett County and other illegal drugs.

“I want to commend my Deputies for a great job of safely and effectively taking a serious drug-dealing Ghost Face gang member off the streets, and I am just glad I was able to get knee deep in the action,” said Gilmer County Sheriff Stacy Nicholson.
