Weather conditions have been called near white out this morning as winter precipitation continues to fall over metro Atlanta. For that reason, Hartsfield-Jackson Airport has issued a temporary ground-stop until at least 10 a.m.

Early Friday morning flight Aware said more than 900 flights were canceled or delayed already at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

But the airport has done what it can to keep things moving.

One reason?

Brine is now down on runways, taxiways, and in gate areas, getting rid of any hazardous ice on the pavement.

Aircraft de-icers are also ready.

Airport officials say it is unlikely that the airport will close.

Best advice? Be aware of your flight status and get to the airport early.
