ATLANTA — Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport remains the No. 1 ranked airport in the United States for guns discovered at TSA checkpoints, according to TSA officials.
In July of 2024, officials said there were 222 firearms confiscated from carry-on bags in 2024, compared to 214 at the same time in 2023.
TSA says they found 440 guns at security checkpoints in 2024. TSA adds that the next closest airport in comparison is Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport with 390 guns in carry-on bags.
Atlanta officials say the number of guns found at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport declined by more than 2 percent from the previous year.
