The Atlanta City Council has greenlighted extended hours for alcohol sales when the city hosts the upcoming college football National Championship game.

Establishments will be able to serve until 2:30 a.m. on Sunday Jan. 19 and on Monday Jan. 20.

The council has waived standard cutoff times in anticipation of thousands of out-of-town fans looking for libations before and after the game.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
