Several teens ran from the scene. Officers arrested one boy they said was the primary aggressor.

A 13-year-old was taken to the hospital.

Family members of the victim reached out to Channel 2 Action News to say that he will recover, but that he was brutally attacked and robbed. Family members said they did not get much help from Atlanta police, who were not able to control the kids.

The mother of the teen said a large group jumped her son for no reason.

“For them to hurt each other and be unruly and there needs to be something in place for them to realize that it’s not okay for us to hurt one another,” said Tanisha Smith.

Her son ended up in the hospital.

“He has abrasions. His nose is nose is swollen. They have to CT scan when the swollen goes down. He has abrasions to his lips,” said the teen’s sister Iresha Ridley.

The boy’s family suggested age restrictions and more supervision at Atlantic Station.

“There needs to be something in place where a child needs to be if there 17 and older, if a child is 13 and 14 years older, they do not need to be there,” Smith said.
