Owner of beloved West End soul food restaurant Q-Time, dies

ATLANTA — Christopher Crenshaw, owner of beloved soul food restaurant Q-Time in Atlanta’s historic West End, died earlier this month at the age of 82, the family announced.

Crenshaw was born in Escambia County, Florida, and worked as a teacher and in the insurance industry before he moved his family to Atlanta and opened restaurants, including Q-Time in 1993.

Crenshaw’s family said he was very involved in the community and participated in fundraisers for various organizations in southwest Atlanta.

He is survived by two daughters, a son, a stepson, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Victory Church in Norcross and streamed online.
