BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a jail inmate whom they said ran away from Atrium Health Navicent hospital in Macon Friday afternoon. They said 20-year-old Ha’Keem Romaire Barrett was at the hospital being treated for an undisclosed medical issue.

Deputies said Barrett reportedly became sick while in his hospital room. They said he then went to use the restroom. From there, deputies said Barrett climbed through the ceiling and managed to find his way to a nearby hallway, walked out of the hospital and was last seen running down the street, away from the hospital.

Deputies said Barrett is a Black male with dreadlocks, around 5-10 tall and weight 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a white “long johns” shirt, white boxer shorts and white socks. He had been jailed on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Deputies expect to charge Barrett for running away from the hospital as well.
