Body Found in Gwinnett Place Mall

The Gwinnett County Police Department is looking for the public’s help in identifying a woman whose body was found inside the now-vacant food court area at Gwinnett Place Mall before Christmas.

“A maintenance worker was doing a routine check of the area. The door was locked to the vendor area that he needed to get to, so he went over the counter and found her in a back room of that abandoned vender area,” says Cpl. Wilbert Rundles.

He tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish the Asian woman is between 20-30 years old, 5 feet tall and weighing about 100 pounds. She has black hair and was wearing a black mesh-style jump suit with black tennis shoes found next to the body.

So far, neither the cause of death nor how long the body is believed to have been there are being released. But Rundles says foul play is not suspected.

“There’s a lot of unanswered questions, at this point, that we need help in determining what happened to this young lady so we can provide her and her loved ones as much help as possible,” he says.

The GBI has released a composite sketch in hopes someone will recognize her.
