Holloway was released from the Shepherd Center Wednesday morning after months of rehabilitation. He was escorted home flanked by dozens of police cars, with lights flashing, and greeted by hundreds of people on the streets of downtown Carrollton.

What the public didn’t see was the tear-jerking moment inside Holloway’s escort vehicle, when officers handed him a radio and dispatch called him back into service.
