The RV that Roy Daniels takes across the country is a lot more expensive to maintain these days, he told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson.

“Everything is going up,” he said.

Daniels said it costs nearly $500 to fill up the tank with today’s gas prices.

“We gotta go to Florida not to fill up like two more times before we make it into actual Jacksonville,” he said.

He said his RV isn’t for family vacations — it’s for his family business deep cleaning restaurants.

“We don’t go up on our prices. We just eat the cost,” he said.

“Every dime that we could save, we can save and you know, that allowed my workers and I’ll have a day off instead of having them work every night,” Daniels said.

Gov. Brian Kemp has already signed an executive order that pauses the state gas tax through July 14, but it’s unclear if there’s enough support in the Senate to pass a federal gas tax holiday.

“I don’t understand why the gas prices are so high,” Brian Finch said.

Drivers say the rise in gas prices along with inflation on everyday items is making everyone reevaluate how they spend their dollars.

“It may crash economy if it continues,” Finch said.
