Metro police departments show outpouring of support following Holly Springs officer’s death

HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. — Police departments across the Atlanta metro and beyond are taking to social media to show their support for a fallen Holly Springs police officer killed in the line of duty.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Officer Joe Burson was dragged by a suspect’s car during a traffic stop on Thursday.

According to the Holly Springs Police Department’s Facebook page, he was sworn in March 2020.

Since the news broke of Burson’s death, police departments across the metro have been showing their support for their fellow officers and expressing their condolences to Burson’s family and the Holly Springs Police Department.
