Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for a gunman who shot a Cobb County police officer in Acworth on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police told Channel 2 Action News that the officer was shot in the vest.
Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was at the scene, where dozens of officers from the Acworth, Cobb County, Marietta and Kennesaw police departments were assisting in the search for the gunman. State Route 92 is shut down in both directions.

Witnesses reported heavy police activity at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Dallas Acworth highway in the area of North Shores Road.
Witnesses reported seeing officers with long guns.
