ATLANTA, GA — According to the CDC, a few weeks before Christmas there was nearly three times as much Covid cases circulating in the US than the previous week.

The surge was seen across the nation, but especially in the Midwest.

The vaccines are still expected to be effective against severe illness or death, but fewer people are getting vaccinated.

Only about 20 % of adults and 10% of children have gotten their Covid-19 vaccine this season.
