NORCROSS, GA — After Norcross-based Waffle House begins implementing a surcharge for eggs, Cracker Barrel says it won’t do the same.
Cracker Barrel says its prices will stay put and in an Instagram post mocks Waffle House saying “Egg surcharges? Never heard of it.”
In fact, Cracker Barrel says it’s doubling rewards points for all members on all egg dishes through February 12.
Waffle House announced earlier this week it was temporarily putting the 50-cent per egg surcharge in effect due to rising prices caused by the bird flu outbreak.
Waffle House says it hopes the price fluctuations will be short-lived, but cannot predict how long the egg shortage will last.
