Four people injured after escaping house fire in NW Atlanta

Atlanta firefighters battled flames and frigid temperatures to put out a blaze at a home on Burton Road in Northwest Atlanta Thursday morning.

Four people inside the home are reportedly being evaluated, and receiving treatment for burns and smoke inhalation.

Due to the nature of the fire, gas and power service did have to be temporarily shut off in the area.

Atlanta Fire Rescue Spokesman Anare Holmes says they escaped from the burning home just after 4 a.m.

He says it’s too soon to say whether any heating source might be to blame, but investigators are still on the scene looking for the cause of the fire and whether efforts to keep the house warm played a factor.
