A Forsyth County man is charged with animal cruelty after authorities found three dead horses and one dead cow on his property.

Another horse was taken from the farm and stables in the 5400 block of Franklin Goldmine Road in Cumming.

According to an incident report, the horse, found in the stables, was very ill and needed treatment from the vet.  In addition to being weak, the report stated the horse was malnourished and its ribs and hip bones were visible.

On April 10, sheriff's deputies visited the property after hearing reports about animal welfare.  The report indicated the three horses and the cow had been dead for at least one month.  The man apparently dumped them in the pasture and left them there.

Deputies have arrested 37-year-old Roque Hernandez.  He is currently in the Forsyth County jail.
