ALPHARETTA, GA — The time for an Alpharetta daycare to appeal the decision to revoke its state license is running out.
The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning issued the license revocation for Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Alpharetta on Jan. 24, nearly a month to the day that one-year-old Juan Martin died.
According to Jerry Brown with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, the investigation found that the school failed to follow proper safety protocols.
Brown says the fruit that Martin choked on was also cut too big.
The school has 10 days to appeal. It will permanently lose its license in 30 days if the appeal decision is denied.
