DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County residents could see an increase in their water bills soon.
A vote is expected sometime on Tuesday by the DeKalb County Commission who plans on increasing water and sewer rates over the next decade.
The revised proposal calls for a rate hike of an annual 8 percent increase every year through 2034.
The money would also be used to renovate other projects described as “crucial,” including the Scott Candler Water Treatment Facility.
Commissioners are also expected to consider a resolution that would provide low-income residents, seniors, and disabled individuals with some relief from the rate hikes.
