DeKalb County fire rescue, animal control rescue puppy who fell into sewer drain pipe

Puppy rescued after falling 10 feet into sewer drain pipe in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A metro Atlanta fire department and animal control showed a great example of teamwork when they made a rescue over the weekend.

DeKalb County firefighters and Animal Control crew worked together to save Jax, a six to eight-week-old puppy.

“Over the weekend, members from Engine 13, Heavy Rescue 24, and DeKalb Animal Control worked together to save little Jax, a 6-8 week old puppy who had fallen 10 feet down a narrow 4-6 inch sewer drain pipe. With determination, utility rope, and a little peanut butter, they were able to safely rescue this brave pup! Jax is now safe and sound thanks to the teamwork and compassion of these incredible responders,” according to a social post by the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department.

The fire department shared a photo of Jax surrounded by its rescuers on its Facebook page.
