Brule is one of only 33 people to win the GMR Stars of Life, which is awarded to paramedics who show exemplary performance in the field.
In April 2021, Brule was off duty when he came across an overturned van that was fully engulfed with fire. People at the accident said someone was trapped inside.
Brule pulled a woman from the burning van and cared for her until medics could arrive.
