DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A Dunwoody home daycare center owner has been charged with murder in the case of a four-month-old baby’s death and other abuse charges.

A DeKalb County grand jury indicted Amanda Hickey with second degree murder, seven counts of first-degree cruelty to children, three counts of battery and several other charges.

Hickey was the owner of Little Lovey Daycare.

According to a release from the DeKalb County District Attorney, the child was found unresponsive in his crib at the daycare. Investigators found the baby had been placed on his stomach and left unattended for more than two hours.

Other charges are related to alleged abuses against children from six months to 16 years old. Channel 2 previously reported warrants saying the owner yanked hair and shook children.

The daycare was licensed for up to six children, but investigators found nearly double that number in the center.
