ATLANTA, GA — Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian says the Biden administration has “over-reached” with its regulations and he’s looking forward to a second Trump administration.

Rahm Chellappa with Emory’s School of Business says government regulators are to make sure there’s competition and to help our airlines, for example, be able to compete levelly with internationally-based carriers.

He notes recent changes like getting rid of junk fees and requiring refunds eats into airlines’ profits.

President-elect Trump has said he wants to slash government agencies and regulations.

Bastian is optimistic and says the first Trump presidency worked well for Delta and he expects similar results the second time.
