CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Drivers expressed frustration after finding it nearly impossible to rent a car at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
At the car rental center, the aisles of many agencies were empty. At other counters, some customers stood in line not knowing if or when they would get a rental car.
“They just said they don’t have cars. I think what they said (is) there’s a truck coming to bring back cars. I’m not sure,” car rental customer Fulya Patrick told WSBTV.
The week following the winter storm, the long lines and frustration has continued at the airport. This has led many customers to have to use ride shares such as Uber or Lyft because there are no cars available to rent.
“They gave out a lot of cars, and not a lot of them came back,” said rental car customer Norma Chan.
Some customers said they were told many travelers had booked one-way rentals following last week’s winter storm that led to the cancelation and delay of flights.
