ATLANTA, GA — A student was caught with a gun at Midtown High School in Atlanta on Thursday morning.
The school says the Evolv Safer Experience System flagged the student’s bookbag and during a search the weapon was found.
The student was arrested and removed from the building immediately.
They face criminal charges as well as disciplinary action from Atlanta Public Schools and and Atlanta Board of Education.
Atlanta Public Schools later released a statement saying, “the safety and wellbeing of students and employees is of the utmost importance at Midtown and in all Atlanta Public Schools.”
