(HENRY COUNTY, Ga.) — Lisa Owens said relocating her 90-year-old father who lives with Alzheimer’s is a decision she was forced to make.
“Devastated. It’s like being punched in the stomach,” said Owens.
Owens told Channel 2 investigative reporter Ashli Lincoln last week she and other families with loved ones staying at the Monarch Villa in Stockbridge received a letter from management announcing they’re closing in 30 days.
“I have to get on the phone and see who has openings, how much they’re running at this point,” Owens said about trying to find a new facility for her father to stay in.
An employee with the assisted living facility that specializes in memory care confirmed that they are closing.
Lincoln went to the facility in person, and management on-site said they were unable to comment.
Records from Henry County’s Superior Court’s real estate division show the deed name on record is for LBC Stockbridge Properties LLC.
Records show the company owes more than $87,000 according to combined amounts from two tax documents.
Monarch Villa is owned by Willow River Senior Living based in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Channel 2 Action News left messages with Stillwater and no one has responded.
