ATLANTA, GA — A driver of a motorized scooter died after colliding head on with another vehicle in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta just before midnight on North Highland Avenue Lear Lanier Boulevard.

Atlanta police say the male driver lost control of the scooter and crossed into the oncoming lane of travel hitting a Toyota RAV-4.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The other driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
