An investigation is underway after a deadly house fire in Fayette County.

One person died when the home on Larelwood Drive caught drive caught fire on Sunday.

Fire officials say that police were the first to respond to the scene, and when they saw the attached garage on the home fully engulfed in flames, they called the Fayette County Fire Department.

Once crews arrived, conditions began to deteriorate and officials went into a defensive posture to put out the flames.

When the blaze was extinguished, officials discovered a body inside the home.

That person’s identity has not been released yet. The Fire Marshall is working to figure out what started the blaze.
