ATLANTA — There are plenty of things to do, places to go and holiday cheer to take part in at the most wonderful time of the year!
Around the metro Atlanta area, here’s a list of some of the events happening to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah today.
Hosea Helps is holding their annual Christmas Party at the Georgia World Congress Center, where they’ll give 100 children free meals and toys, show movies and host art activities for family fun. The event began at 11 a.m.
In Dunwoody, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta is hosting a Hanukkah Family Fun Day with multiple activities for people of all ages starting at 10 a.m. at the MJCCA Zaban Park at 5342 Tilly Mill Road.
For Atlantans who want to spread holiday cheer but stay in the city, Zoo Atlanta has their annual Illuminights event, going from now until Jan. 19, 2025.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nicole’s House of Hope is supporting their community with a toy-catch giveaway at the Mall West End on Oak Street. At the event, the organization will be providing toys to underprivileged children and families, as well as meals.
Christ the King is also hosting their Christmas Mass at noon, in Spanish at 1:30 p.m. and another at 4 p.m. at the Peachtree Road cathedral.
Also in Dunwoody, the Chabad Jewish Center of Dunwoody is hosting an evening menorah lighting and community Hanukkah festival led by Rabbi Mendy Wineberg. The event includes holiday food, kids activities and the menorah lighting, as well as a gelt drop with help from the DeKalb Fire Department.
The event will be held at Ashford Lane in Dunwoody located at 4500 Olde Perimeter Way starting at 5 p.m.
In Kennesaw, there’s a Festival of Trees happening at Town Center, located at 400 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway NW, starting at 11 a.m.
If you’re up for a more musical adventure for the holidays, there’s a Karaoke Christmas event at Boggs Social and Supply in Atlanta starting at 9 p.m.
