One dead in Fayetteville fire, Red Cross helping families displaced by Riverdale blaze

Fayetteville police (Fayetteville Police Department)

Investigators say a woman was killed and a man was injured in an overnight fire in Fayetteville.

Fire crews were called to a home on West Fayetteville Road around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning where the woman was pulled from the home.

Fire investigators say the man suffered burns to his hands and sustained smoke inhalation.

Authorities have not said what caused the blaze.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross is working to help at least seven families that are displaced by an early Sunday morning fire at the Archway Apartments in Riverdale. There is no cause determined for that fire either.
