FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — Fire officials are working to learn how a fire started inside an Ingles grocery store in Fayetteville on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters say they were called to the supermarket on Hwy. 92 before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Crews say the fire started inside the store, but did not clarify what areas were affected.

It is unclear at this time if the store was open or if shoppers had to be evacuated.

Officials have not commented on whether or not they believe the fire was intentionally set.

No firefighters or police officers were injured during this incident.

Last month, a 14-year-old girl was charged with arson after investigators say she set fire to the inside of a Fayette County Walmart. Three officers were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after the fire.

Both the Walmart and the Ingles will remain closed until further notice.
