CARROLL COUNTY, GA — The former executive director of the Carroll County affiliate of a national non-profit is facing possible jail time after she is charged with stealing money from the organization.

Police say Staci Cook took money that was donated to the CASA Carroll County’s Venmo account and redirected the funds to her personal Venmo.

The investigation reveals that at least $7,000 dollars was taken, and it appears Cook also received extra paychecks.

Cook’s employment with CASA has been terminated. Casa provides assistance to children who are in foster care after experiencing abuse and neglect.

If convicted, Cook could face up to 10 years in prison.
