Roswell resident are coming together to raise money for city employees laid off at the holidays.

When former city councilwoman Nancy Diamond says she heard about more than two dozen layoffs she made a post on Facebook and friends suggested a GoFundMe.

After an initial fundraising goal of $5,000, the page has tripled that raising more than $15,000 and counting.

Diamon says once they go 24 hours without any new donations, they will collect the money and make sure it gets to the former employees.
