The embattled Fulton County Sheriff’s Office may avoid a lawsuit after apparently finding a way to pay a debt of more than a million dollars.
Strategic Security ordered it contract guards to walk off the job at the Fulton County jail three months ago after the tab grew to a million dollars.
Since then, CEO Joe Sordi says he has done everything to make it easier for the cash-strapped lockup to pay the debt.
“We approached them about setting up a payment plan,” Sordi said.
Now the Sheriff’s office is out with a statement saying it has “formulated a plan to pay the outstanding balance from our existing budget.”
The statement also says basically, the check is in the mail.
