ATLANTA, GA — As the legislative session kicks into high gear, Georgia Democrats are planning a renewed push for Medicaid expansion.

Democrats say the new bill known as the Peach Care Plus Act of 2025 would close the so-called coverage gap and give 500,000 Georgians access to affordable healthcare.

Four senate Republicans have signed onto this legislation which may helps the chances of it moving forward.

Gov. Brian Kemp has made it clear that he opposes a full Medicaid expansion here in Georgia.
