No survivors in deadly plane crash in Oconee County

OCONEE, Ga. — Oconee officials are investigating after a plane went down Wednesday afternoon.

The Oconee Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a plane crashed in the area of Government Station Road around 2:30 p.m.

Deputies did not say what caused the plane to go down.

Oconee authorities confirmed it was a deadly single-engine plane crash with two casualties. The names of the deceased have not been released.

The plane was a Cessna 177B that departed from Central Florida, according to Flightaware.com.

The NTSB and FAA are investigating whether today’s forecast affected the flight.
