ATLANTA — Gas prices across Georgia have risen as oil prices surged this winter.
According to Georgia AAA, the average price of regular unleaded gas is $2.96, which is a three cents jump from the previous week and four cents higher than December.
The average price of mid-grade, diesel and premium in Georgia are $3.37, $3.52 and $3.77 respectively.
The average gas price in Georgia is currently 18 cents below than the national average.
Compared by counties in Georgia, the average gas price in Fulton County is $3.09, while the average in Muscogee County is $2.86.
AAA says the uptick in prices is also blamed on U.S. sanctions against Russia that have caused uncertainty in the energy industry and the demand for heating during this chilly season
