ATLANTA — Gates are officially open at Underground Atlanta ahead of this year’s Peach Drop to celebrate New Year’s.
The tradition of the Peach Drop located at Underground Atlanta began in 1989. It was canceled in 2023 and in previous years. Officials say thousands of people on average attend to enjoy the food, live music, entertainment, and celebrations.
Atlanta police said nearly every single one of their officers will be out in force around the city to keep people safe.
Atlanta hip-hop icon Big Boi, known as half of Outkast, is headlining the shows Tuesday night along with the Neon Trees and several local artists.
In previous years, the event has hosted legendary R&B singer Little Richard, Janelle Monae, and Atlanta’s own Ludacris among others.

The following road closures will be in effect. For anyone who hopes to celebrate New Year’s at the Peach Drop, MARTA and rideshare services are highly recommended.
The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety joins local law enforcement in warning drivers to avoid driving impaired or distracted.
