ATLANTA, GA — The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded 23 contracts for transportation projects in the state.
The projects will include bridge work, resurfacing, and safety improvements.
More than $33 million will go towards 11 resurfacing projects. The largest involves more than 9500 miles on SR 20, from south of SR 124 to southwest of Covington street in Gwinnett and Walton counties.
Bridge projects in the metro include bridge rehabilitation at various locations in Fulton and Douglas counties.
The largest safety project will focus on widening and creating turn lanes on SR 101 in Carroll County.
Pavement work will be done in Cherokee-Pike and Rockdale counties.
